Ben Coes is a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of international espionage thrillers including Power Down, Coup d’État, The Last Refuge, Eye for an Eye, Independence Day, First Strike, Trap the Devil, Bloody Sunday, The Russian, and The Island.
Ben is currently at work on a stand-alone series that takes place between 2094 and 2096. He attended Columbia University and was awarded the university's writing award, the Bennett Cerf Memorial Prize, at graduation.
Ben worked at the White House under Ronald Reagan and served as a White House-appointed speechwriter to the Secretary of Energy during the Gulf War. He worked in the energy industry for Boone Pickens and then started two companies. Ben was a Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts with his wife, Shannon, and four children, Charlie, Teddy, Oscar, and Esmé.
